FINAL OUTCOME

For my final outcome I have chosen to create another narrative sequence, as I enjoyed making it the most. I wanted to do the same story as my first attempted but add all the improvements I wanted into it. It was easier this time as I knew the method on how to do it, and made sure every thing was set up properly. I set up the tripod and camera the same as before with, the ISO was on 100, the aperture was on 2" and the shutter speed was on f11. I changed from water to apple juice and I believe this made the storyline better along with the music. During the part where the apple was climbing up the glass I used double sided sticky tape to hold the apple in place which was hard as the juice from the apple made the tape we I had the same problem trying not move the apple between shots. Also I found it difficult not moving my hand when picking the glass up, I had to try not to move as the exposure time was long and if I was to move the picture would have came out blurry. This was ...

Stop Motion Narrative

Image
This is stop motion. I started by setting up the tripod and camera, the ISO was on 100, the aperture was on 2" and the shutter speed was on f11. There where a lot of things that could have went wrong when shooting this. I had to make sure when cutting that apple I didn't move it along with the glass, to help prevent this I made a mark on the desk where the objects should be. It was challenging judging how far i should move each piece during each shot to avoid making it look jumpy, I believe it worked but to make it better i could do more shots moving it less in-between. i would also improve it by using apple juice instead of water, this would improve the story. I also accidentally left water in the glass during the first couple of shots, removing it would of made it better. However i did manage to not move my hand when picking the glass up this stopped the photos coming out blurry. I would also like to add music. For this I took 81 pictures. I made this as a gif on ph...

My Pinhole Results

Image
My pinhole was a success as I managed to capture the passing sun over 3 months. Each day the sun raised a little leaving me with a arched effect as it rose and set. There are also days where it was cloudy so the sun didn't shine through, this left me with gaps in the light trails. I believe it was successful because I placed it in a high enough place where I could capture the car park trees and sun.  I would have sealed it better as water managed to get inside the can and leave marks I could have used extra zip ties and duct tape. If this didn't happen i would have been able to capture more of the surroundings. This is how my print looked when i first took it out the can. Once I took a photo of it on a digital camera i opened the image up in Lightroom. This is the set up we had in order to take the photo of it. After adjusting it in Lightroom I then opened it up in photoshop where i changed the levels and exposure. i then proceeded to remove blemishes and m...

Sequence of Decay (gif)

Image
This is my sequence of decay. For this I froze some water that was mixed with red food dye to make it more interesting. The water was in a pot, this was to get the dome effect. I used a tripod to keep the camera steady between shots, as well as using the built in timer in the camera so I wouldn't have to touch it to prevent any movement. Overall it took 71 shots for the ice to melt completely, taking a shot every five minutes. The camera was set to raw with an ISO 100, the aperture was 2.5" and the shutter speed was f11. There wasn't many challenges as I had the timer and didn't have to wait every five minutes to take a picture. I tried to block out any natural light so through out the day I wouldn't get any shifts in lighting, as it took over 5 hours and the ice wasn't completely melted by then, I had to stop as the battery on the camera died.

High Speed Photography

Image
These are our high speed shots where we all worked in a team as you need people doing different things. One person need to drop the plum (me) another had to trigger the flash and someone had to reset the infer red receiver.  We had to constantly re-fill the glass bowl, as when the plum would drop in, it would loose water and wouldn't form the crowning effect of the water.
